Vijay Eswaran Talks About His Career

Vijay is the revered executive director of the renowned QI Group of Companies. As one of the founders of the corporation, he has played a pivotal role in enhancing the growth of the same. Dr. Eswaran contends that he envisioned a new company that would bring together the synergies of direct sales and global use of internet. While talking of how the company started, Vijay posited that they saw the need to merge the direct selling business model with the successful e-commerce platform.

He asserts that together with his partners, they deliberated endlessly about what products and services could give them a competitive edge in the market. To this end, they decided to channel their energies to a numismatic and precious metals model that was anchored on the thriving strategies used in the European market. It is here that they agreed to procure the rights to engage in marketing commemorative coins.

Eswaran says that because of coming late into the market, they had less time to compete effectively. Their competitors had already been in the market for two years.

Before the start of the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Vijay and his team shocked their competitors by being ranked among the top three distributors out of the 42 participants from different parts of the globe. Eswaran posits that these distributors failed to take into account the impact and success of web based sales and the human aspect of direct selling.

Before moving to back to Asia, Vijay had worked and studied abroad. He is an alumnus of the London School of Economics where he graduated with his degree in socio-economics.

He is also CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) certified. In addition, Eswaran holds an MBA from the prestigious Southern Illinois University. Co-founder of QI Group, Vijay Eswaran, is also the Executive Chairman of the company. He founded the group in 1998, alongside Joseph Bismark, in Hong Kong. It was difficult because they did not have enough capital and funds, but they persisted as their ambition did not allow them to give up.

Later, they set up offices in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong which expanded to more than 30 nations through subsidiaries. This resulted in an average income of $750 million on an annual basis.

Mr. Eswaran has decided to share his knowledge with others, and he accomplishes this by holding lectures in various parts of the world. He has acquired a chance to talk to students from leading universities and also in both World and Commonwealth forums, where he covers areas on spirituality and business among others. They have also offered loans to 21 students from humble backgrounds, who are taking up tertiary education.
